Tasmanian Land Conservancy
Tasmania is home to unique plants and wildlife, many of which are found nowhere else in the world. While Tasmania is well known for its large and iconic national parks and reserves, a number of the species that call Tasmania home are still under threat of disappearing forever. These remarkable plants and wildlife rely on the critical habitat that only occurs on private land for survival.
The Tasmanian Land Conservancy is a not-for-profit, community-based foundation that raises funds from the public to protect irreplaceable sites and rare ecosystems by buying and managing private land in Tasmania. Their system of reserves helps to complete, by extending the range of, the network of public reserves that protect Tasmania’s unique and, in many cases, threatened ecosystems.
In 2021, the Don’t Bag the Environment campaign supported the Tasmanian Land Conservancy.
